It's hard to believe this year is almost halfway over. We've had some exciting new updates to GrazeCart and even more exciting updates planned for the rest of the year. I wanted to give a brief overview of 3 main areas we plan to focus on.
We get a lot of requests for new features which is great, and I wish we could accommodate them all. I wanted to start by giving an overview of how we prioritize new features.
1. The main thing we look at is based on the demand from you guys. The more farms that start requesting a feature, the higher up it goes on our list. This doesn't guarantee it will make it to the top though, as that depends on a few other things.
2. The second thing we look at is how much time/cost there will be in adding this feature. Some features are so complex it would almost be like building an entirely separate platform. The features that are in high-demand, but also require the least cost/time, will usually go first.
3. The last thing we look at is how much it will benefit all farms using GrazeCart. Because GrazeCart is a shared platform, changes don't happen in isolation. If we add a feature it becomes available to all farms. This is fine if all farms can use it, but if the feature only solves a problem that is unique to a specific farm, then that feature could end up causing confusion/issues for everyone else. It's a delicate balance.
So here is what we have planned for the remainder of 2018. This is subject to change, but our hope is to adhere to this roadmap as tightly as possible.
We understand how important good email deliverability is, so we want to focus on making sure your emails get in your customer's inbox. We've recently made some updates that have so far vastly improved deliverability, but there is more to be done. One thing will be allowing you to validate your sending domain for your email. This will require you to get an email address at a domain your manage. So something like email@example.com. If you are using your yahoo or hotmail email for your farm it's time to get a new email address :)
Another thing we hope to add is a way to see what emails you have sent to your customers, as well as being able to see if an email failed to send.
I'll be honest, the current page editor could use some improvements. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to make your site look and function exactly the way you want. This includes more content block options, live preview when editing your pages, better SEO tools, and much more.
We plan to add more reporting options so you can see your data in more helpful ways. This includes individual product, customer, and location sales trends over a date range.
So these are going to be the 3 main areas of focus for the rest of the year. Of course, there will be small features and bug fixes during that time as well. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
